The Reality

In the news ...TODAY!

"The rapid spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant has prompted dire warnings from healthcare workers across South America, as pressure builds at hospitals whose employees are taking sick leave, leaving facilities understaffed to cope with COVID-19."

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/1/17/south-american-health-networks-struggling-as-omicron-cases-rise

"The U.S. surgeon general warned on Sunday that the omicron surge of the coronavirus has yet to peak nationally despite more than 800,000 new cases being reported daily."

"Australia is in the middle of a huge Omicron wave after state and federal governments pivoted from a policy of Covid suppression to one of “living with the virus”, causing a surge in demand for rapid antigen testing kits."

...so apparently if you're going to "live with the virus" you can expect rapid antigen testing to be even more important? AcuVid right on cue?

From one week ago

"The U.S. has chosen a multi-pronged approach to increase testing in the country. The Biden administration is distributing 500 million rapid COVID-19 tests for free to Americans who request them, while also requiring private insurers to cover the costs of up to eight over-the-counter at-home tests a month. But a surge in Omicron-related demand and diminishing supplies of at-home tests means that it’s difficult for people to access tests in stores. "

Thats awesome news for companies with FDA approval or at least in the waiting for one.  WE ARE STILL IN TRIALS!    Its sad to say that this will come to little to late and we will have been returned to normal life by the time we get approvals......
