Titan website
Hey nozzpack, it looks like it's just you, me, and mlmack (a while ago).
I've noticed the website has changed. Until recently, if you clicked "About us" you'd get a little drop down menu. It included Careers and a few other things. Note you can still see the little down arrow next to "About Us."
Now when you go there it's all about the so-called Smart Truck. What struck me was that in this whole section there seems to be little if any mention of the TD100. (You can, of course, still find it elsewhere in the website.)
Click on "Discover Smart Truck Systems." They offer a kind of hardware / software package that I would imagine is pieced together from various vendors. The two lists are a little odd in that they don't quite seem to fit together.
So, for example, their software setup can monitor tire pressure but there's no mention of tire pressure sensors in the hardware list. Newer trucks may have them built in. Otherwise I guess you have to get your own.
A friend and I were perplexed by the claim that the software can be used for "Validating smart contracts."
Really? Smart contracts are part of the world of decentralized finance (DiFi) in the realm of crypto. But in moving liquids around?? Maybe, I suppose. Not sure how.
It looks to me like Titan is roughly trying to do with tanker trucks what TransRail Innovations has done with tank rail cars. I'd say it looks interesting.
Will it get some traction? Including outside the oil industry? Good questions.
