Strategy

Hi All - My action plan unflods. First, bought 9,000 more today for a total of 200,000  (much easier to calculate 200K vs 191K....lol) Second, sold all my holding in TFSA and withdrew entire amount earlier this year. Third, transfer the entire 200,000 shares into TFSA on the first day of trading 2022.

Fairly confident that the stock will stay in the .25 - .30 range until the new year. In 2022 we will see BTD from FDA and a partnership annoucement with big pharma that will give us the marketing/sales resources needed to get full value (NMIBC only). End of year price target $4 - $5. 2023 -2024 our  big pharma partner buys us outright...target price TBD.

Just my 2 cents.

Mikee

Could have a big tax bill if TLT rockets before January 4 2022 .
Comment by pullsea on Dec 01, 2021 7:04pm
Then the tax bill be shifted by a year, which will be only one year later. So, let it come any time at all

Hi pullsea - Not sure what you are saying?? Any money earned in a TFSA is a tax-free gain. There is no better way to stick it to the taxman! Since I already paid tax on the money/investment I am putting into my TFSA I won't have to pay anything when I take the money out. No tax bill gets shifted. Mikee

Mikee3003 did you go over your plan with a broker or financial planner?  I might be wrong but I think you can only put a maximum value of $6,000 into your TFSA per year, I don't think you can transfer in "kind" from one account to another if you can it can't exceed $6,000 in value. Please check at your financial institute and let us know if you can , thanks.

My understanding is that the limit TFSA for 2022 is now $6,000.00 , however, Mikey might have room to contribute more then that if he is behind in his yearly contributions. I think that if you have never contributed you now have room for $75,500.00 . The contributions roll forward from one year to the next. The only thing that I might question is his lack of diversification if he goes forward with ...more

Hi, no need for me to check with a broker or planner, used the same strategy in the past. From CRA: Withdrawing funds from your TFSA does not reduce the total amount of contributions you have already made for the year. Withdrawals, excluding qualifying transfers and specified distributions, made from your TFSA in the year will only be added back to your TFSA contribution room at the ...more

When you contribute to a TFSA, it's important to be mindful of the TFSA contribution limit – the maximum amount that you can contribute to a TFSA in any given year. The annual TFSA contribution limit for 2021 is $6,000 and you can carry forward unused contribution room from previous years.

I do believe you can transfer in from one account to another - at least I have been doing it for about 5 years. I have a "mandatory" withdrawal from my RIF each year and I often do that withdrawal by moving something over to the TFSA. 2 tasks taken care of in 1 step.
