Covid vaccines will likely become annual like flu shots, White House officials say

 

Dr. Anthony Fauci said he anticipates a schedule "similar to that of the annual influenza vaccine, with annual updated Covid-19 shots matched to the currently circulating strains."

 

Covid vaccinations will likely become an annual affair, White House officials said Tuesday, with a schedule resembling that of flu shots.

"In the absence of a dramatically different variants, we likely are moving towards a path with a vaccination cadence similar to that of the annual influenza vaccine, with annual updated Covid-19 shots matched to the currently circulating strains for most of the population," Dr. Anthony Fauci said at a White House briefing.

 

The reasoning behind this expectation, according to Fauci and White House Covid-19 Response Coordinator Ashish Jha, has to do with improved protection from newly updated Covid booster shots.

It is well documented that even though you are vaccinated and that you get it, it puts odds on your side that there are less chances of complications if you are vaccinated. It is well documented also that COVID-19 brings more complications than flu as it's a respiratory virus.  Data over the last 2y have demonstrated it. My 85-y old mother-in-law got it despite being vaccinated.

Sure you can still contract COVID despite being vaccinated. I did ( felt like being hit with a brick) but recovered and my breathing was never compromised. Bottom line; the current vaccine's play a significant role in preventing hospitalization and death. Perhaps TLTs 1433 will be even better by preventing COVID. If TLT can develop one vaccine that can be good against covid and variants, thank you TLT. All my family  and friends had covid not without death and long hopistalization. Most had small symptoms and recovered after 10 days. All vaccinated, long hospitalizations were not vaccinated. Vaccines were not ready. Vaccine good or bad... I think better than nothing for most but not perfect.

I would get TLTs Covid Vaxx annually. Heck maybe even twice a year. The mRNA vaxes I'll pass on those. At least TLTs vaxx would actually be a preventative.
