Proxy circular

now available on SEDAR.  Some things that make you go "hmmmm?".  I am not sure that they are preparing themselves properly to capitalize on the kind of opportunities that they have convinced shareholders that are out there. I would expect some signs of a growth posture at all levels and the absence thereof from the limited information in the document raises some questions for me. If we see a bunch of contracts before the AGM and some big ones, that would provide some comfort and vice versa.  Anyone else care to weigh in?

I have no doubt that there will be contract announcements before the AGM.  Crossland has always saved up or bunched up annpuncements before quarterlies or the AGM, it helps to save his axx..  So nothing will change.  But how many will there be?  On the issue of growth, I am not surprised that a growth posture has not been assumed since I believe the Crossland is not the right ...more

He will have to have frequent bunches. I would like to see them bring some new faces to the leadership table, ones that have grown small companies into big ones before. I see nobody with that profile right now, and they are all growing older well into the twilight of their careers. Not sure they have the energy needed to push this to an "immense" success. Need effective action to back up ...more

JMHO. Bill did his best at CFO and M&A. An experienced sales and marketing guy - like Angus - did well at sales and associated promotion, but less so oon financials. IMHO - Who gets added to the board needs to be a sale orientated member to guide the 'others'. Yearly, we have been stalled at a lack of transparency of growth relevant to rollling out a detailed  'plan' ...more

EBITDA positive Q4.  TMG make profit from their sales because TMG is well managed.  The score is now 173 to 17.  Getting closer day by day.  Soon.

Two more medium sized deals and TMG is sure to be well into profitble territory for the year. How many PDA's?  It looks to me like they have a pretty good team.

They said at various times during Covid, that there were 11-14-17 projects delayed at the engineering phase due to site lock downs. The word project was used, as was the reference to sizes of 1M and larger.  So these were definable projects being finalized in terms of choice of upgrade and final total cost. The the phrase project-development PDA began being used which looks more like Paid ...more

I'm with you 100%. It just does the investors and stock price zero favours when management is so poor when it comes to communication and consistency of meaningful updates. I am still firmly of the belief that this stock has the potential to the Moon, but for that to happen, they have to demonstrate that they can actually close these big deals.

When project sizes range between $500k and $2.8m with a great payback, and pretty well most industries across the world can use an application, selling $15m, $20m, $30m worth of technologies does not IMO constitute a pretty good (sales) team. $15m could be to one Fortune 500 company in a year. But i keep being pstient because of how great they keep painting their business environment and it is ...more

The question for us as investors becomes, "how long do we give them to deliver?" Can't wait forever, but for me personally, the risk/reward proposition is just too tempting to back out of yet.

Become PushMcGee and tell 'them' to hurry up with sales orders..! I am wating for a good volume day =  1.8M

Hah...something tells me that would play out like Adele singing "Hello." They have been completely silent on social media and with NRs since October started after a string of news and a marked uptick in social media engagement. Is something big in the works, or did they just lack the conviction to keep their updates coming so steadily?

I think a 2.8M sale was supposed to 'rock'.    But it was lonely.. IMO they needed 2 more back to back to further the assertion that 'the telphone is ringing'..! And 'good times happening now'..!

Q1 results should be out this week and should provide a catalyst either way.  I can't see why revenue couldn't have been up towards 5 million with a positive net income. On the other hand, after decades of disappointment, I've learned to expect the worst.

At least this time our resident traders are using this to cover their recent high flyer debilitating losses.

I think we are still at a stage where the backlog is more important than actual quarterly results which can vary widely depending on the delivery of one or two bigger contracts. The pipeline has to grow like never before. "Record" is not good enough by itself because a record can be broken by ten bucks. We need records to be broken by millions. And it would be nice to have backlog that ...more

I think that the market is losing its apetite for money losing high debt companies regardless of the growth story, so a profitable Q1 will be very welcome.  A large backlog is only good if you can profitably work it down. Look at XBC. They had a huge backlog but seem to have been using the "we lose money on every sale but we're going to make up for it on volume" business model.
Comment by Mostlyserious on Oct 25, 2022 7:08am
You are right. I remember XBC growing fast through acquisitions but then stopped following it because with growing revenues, they could never turn a profit. I think TEI can achieve better gross margins, even from today, and do not need additional overhead to service it. So, north of $25 million revenues, there is a decent step growth in revenues that can feed right to the bottom line before ...more

I should also mention that if my memory is correct, percentage gross margins were quite a few points higher a decade ago than today.  That should not be the case when the margins on GEM products are so much bigger.  If gross margins do not strengthen, then it could be a sign that TEI is unable to pass even inflationary costs to the clients, which would be worrisome.  Inflation ...more
