Canada will introduce refundable tax credits for clean tech

This might be good for some sales in Canada...
Canada will introduce refundable tax credits for clean technologies worth up to 30% of investment costs, in a bid to close competitive gaps with the United States in scaling up green technologies, the government said on Thursday.

It will also launch a growth fund, first announced in April, by the end of the year with a capitalization of C$15 billion ($10.92 billion) to help mitigate the risks private investors take on when investing in new technologies and infrastructure.

"net-zero technologies" does that include TMG?  I don't think it does.  But I will sell you a giant hole with a lid (for trapping all the carbon).

it does include in low-carbon heat equipment...

I have to agree.  I read the news articles which are high level and was trying to see how or where TMG can fit in all this funding support.  It did not hit me as a slam dunk but I think I am correct in assuming that there are many different climate change related programs from various sources of funding.  Surely there is quite a bit for the "more traditional band-aid" type ...more

Yes, it includes low-carbon heat equipement.

Is our equipment used in low-carbon equipment? LC is stuff like hydrogen, wind, solar and nuclear. I guess CW partnership shows the link between traps and nuclear. Pardon the ignorance. Maybe TEI should make itself heard when relevant large funding announcements are made...part of a marketing pitch for potential clients, moreso than investors.

TEI needs to lobby policy makers.  Germany went negative to 'energy efficiency'.  The UK is funding the large Tier 2 Integrators - but TEI has ignored collaborations. Previously, in the UK at the NHS conference at which TEI and the Hospital shared a 'Best'  Award,  Politicians were in attendance, including the minister.  I had hope that this was going to ...more

Strong sales and marketing to existing and new client base. Too small and insignificant for policy makers. Thermal is part of various coalitions but does not appear to benefit much from them, at least not visible thus far. Let's go, new week, time for news.

Mitigate the risks indeed.  It takes 30 years to pay off a windmill (I wonder what the life span of a windmill is).  This sounds like a pork-barrel.  Time will tell. It takes 2 years to pay off a TMG but a windmill is more appealing to the masses. Windmills conjure up romantic images of Dutch farmers.  Ironic, no?
Comment by prone on Nov 08, 2022 8:42am
Windmills will not save the Dutch farmer from a dramatic rise in sea levels. Covid took cars off the road and reduced carbon levels for 3 years.  Energy efficiency can reduce worldwide fossil fuel use dramatically and permanently.  TEI is the interim solution needed for the 10-15 year road to reducing all fossil fuel uses. Time is needed for the enhanced infrastructure to support ...more

Rising sea levels?  Me thinks they have bigger issues: https://farmersforum.com/the-netherlands-govt-crackdown-could-force-sale-of-600-farms/

Do you see the irony now????

Not expected in a democracy. But, as it happens, most governments are becoming more autocratic.
