Only Canada had a holiday.  Not much business had in Canada but perhaps those reviewinf NRs took the Monday off.  Catch up today, and let's see an NR tomorrow.

Reasonably sized Bulls Eye.

Or one mega project well north of $5 million will do, I figure. I do however like when the clients commit to work at several different plants at the same time.  GEMs are the easy ones for this kind of thing, but would be nice to have a client commit to a few heat recovery projects at the same time. And it would be nice if all the multinational giants were engaging TEI much more frequently.& ...more

And I also await this weeks sales announcement or DEAL ..............
Comment by Mostlyserious on Jun 05, 2023 12:43pm
Yes.  2 sales announcements over 5 months is about 8 short of what we should have seen, so this week is as good as any to close another one.  A $10 million mega project would come close to making up for the year so far.

Yes, we need something announced before the typical summer slowdown of TEI comes into effect. "Slowdown" in this case meaning something much slower than the usual slow pace that things slowly move along at.

We need Clarity - in terms of what the Back log is Now - and clarity about the 'booming' steam trap demand. The business product mix needs clarity.    Traps used to represent a small base of revenue - now Trap sales are much larger. Bill- how about a Spring-Summer update...???
Comment by Mostlyserious on Jun 06, 2023 10:28am
Agree.  In the absence of specific sales contract news, we need updates that can give us an idea of how lower ticket items are progressing and even the bid activity on all the larger proposals.  We need to have confidence that the activity behind the scenes is consistent with their description of great business environment, and that it is just a matter of time before we get increasingly ...more

Wait. What. We had a winter slowdown, a spring slowdown and now we are waiting for a summer slowdown?

We do get two to four good months in some years. The client base is simply not large enough is a logical conclusion.  Maybe it is large enough for the staffing they have but clearly shareholders need much faster growth to have a chance at some return on their investment.  If staffing is the limiting factor, (either quantity or quality) then it should be a priority to address.  And ...more

Agreed. They are also underperforming in completing the outstanding PDAs. So slow that companies could be thinking of going elsewhere to get the job done. Poor leadership.

Like a turtle in the mud?

Based on average times to make a decision and some other provided descriptions of a "life of a PDA" we may be past due for some announcements.
Comment by AlbertESG on Jun 06, 2023 10:40am
It's possible that they are having issues completing the PDA's. I'm more worried that they have completed a bunch of them but have been unable to convert them into actual project sales for whatever reason. This seems to be reinforced by the fact that they no longer tell us how many PDA's are outstanding.

I am also going to guess that these huge multi-nationals are in much greater hurry to implement projects that save 10s or 100s of millions of dollars versus 100s of thousands regardless of payback or return on $1. That would have to explain the low penetration rates in some of them even after they had a chance to see the benefits of initial projects. So, as I said, they need to greatly increase ...more

They need to sign larger more interesting deals across multiple sites.  Economy of scale.
