CURTISS-WRIGHT SIGNS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH THERMAL ENERGY INTERNATIONAL

TO BRING GEM STEAM TRAPS WITH ZERO MOVING PARTS
TO THE NORTH AMERICAN NUCLEAR POWER MARKET AND
DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

Jun 28, 2022

BREA, CA  – June 28, 2022 – Curtiss-Wright’s Nuclear Division today announced that it has signed an exclusive teaming agreement with Thermal Energy International, Inc. (TEI) to bring GEM™ steam traps to the North American nuclear power market and Department of Energy.

“This partnership will allow Curtiss-Wright to broaden our portfolio of obsolescence solutions for the North American nuclear fleet and DOE,”

said Kurt Mitchell, Vice President and General Manager of Curtiss-Wright’s Nuclear and Valves Divisions.

“Through our collaboration with TEI, we will bring the industry an innovative valve solution that delivers a significant increase in efficiency over legacy designs.”

Per the agreement,

Curtiss-Wright will market and deliver TEI’s GEM steam traps, parts, and services to customers seeking a replacement for legacy steam traps that have become obsolete or difficult to maintain.

Unlike legacy products, the patented GEM steam trap technology features a unique design with no moving parts – reducing maintenance and improving reliability.

“We look forward to partnering with Curtiss-Wright to pioneer the use of GEM Steam Traps in a critical market.

Our solution will enable the North American nuclear power market to operate more efficiently and sustainably,” said William Crossland, Thermal Energy International CEO.
