Things that make me laugh .

#1 today . Some think that AI bots are dumb? Why ? Because some posters at SH are already using ChatGPT (AI) to polish  their posts . If TMG is not using AI , they should start employing one or more today . This is why I wished TMG would employ a staff member with a back ground in AI a while back .

You really use ChatGPT to polish your posts?   Maybe TEI should start with CharGPT and ask who will buy their GEM steam traps.  Who knows.

AI in ManufacturingFor manufacturers, one key application is in predictive maintenance. AI algorithms analyze cloud-based data from sensors on machinery to predict potential equipment failures. This proactive approach reduces unplanned downtime, lowers maintenance costs, and optimizes overall equipment effectiveness.Jan 29, 2024

Put your snark away and study AI in industry . It's here and here to stay .

Mr. Greendaze, the idea of the existence of sensors to detect steam trap failure is something that existed for quite some time and I mentioned it years ago when such sensors were being used and when we were salivating over refineries having 10k to 30k steam traps.  Such idea was a measure to companies running operations with steam traps failing to shut and therefore contributing to GEM steam ...more

Many competitors have had Steam Plant MIS for years, to alert maintenance personnel to trap malfunctions . It was a hard market to crack so TEI chose smaller/unique customer sites that benefit from GEM traps without having to purchase a MIS. Cost of energy and GHG legislation is changing the customer landscape.

If you think that AI . AGI is only about sensors . You need to do a great deal of reading on the topic . AI is driving the speed of innovation like never before .

If you think that I am going to do a whole lot of reading to figure all the ways that TEI can benefit, you have me mistaken for running the company. I suggest you get in touch with Crossland, have a long discussion and provide him all the references of AI that are relevant to their product offerings. The SP ain't going anywhere based on how much or how little any one of us knows about AI ...more

Excellent! Being blissfully oblivious is your best option . The rate of innovation is irrelevant , unless it comes for the business you've been holding . Don't worry . I wouldn't give you a reading list anyway . It's all nonfiction. I don't knowingly read fiction .

Give us your investment advice once you have figure out whether TEI is on the right path here or not. There is tons of stuff I would love to know that can impact my decision but a lot of it is available only to TEI or to their clients.  So, I am blissfully obliviously invested as it is.

this is an excellent idea.  Putting sensors with Narrow Band IoT for complete connectivity would do nicely here.  Also gives an AI twist to it.
