Gaming on a Smart TV is easier than some suggest

Someone posted a concern that gaming on a smart TV will be awkward because a TV remote control is a poor device to game with. That may be true but you don't have to use a TV remote. There are several options. First, smart phones can be used as smart remotes for smart TVs. Second, you can connect a USB mouse or keyboard directly to a smart TV or connect wirelessly via a USB dongle. Third, there are now wireless game controllers that will work with smart TVs. I suspect game developers are already designing their products to be compatible with any of these hardware choices.

This thing is...with Xbox One and PS4 available ... or even a Ouya ... the people who can afford Smart TVs can afford them...why would a person want to play a single player game of Poker on their TV and pay a fee for it? People who play free multiplayer card games on the internet tend to be people who don't own Smart TVs. They are generating decent revenue so far, so they are worthy of the

TNG offers World Poker Tour and I think it is free. Yes many people play poker for free on the internet but they had to buy a computer or tablet to do it. I can see the day where there will only be a smart TV in the home which will be used for TV and internet, so I disagree with your economic argument.

Just looked through a user manual for a Samsung smart TV and saw that it can also be controlled by voice recognition and hand gestures. I think the end of game consoles is coming. In the future they will all reside inside smart TVs.
