fluid, not exactly a nickel but more like half a cent (lol). the big problem with stocks I have seen since this quarter and quite possibly sooner is that people have been shorting them really aggressively. Espial (esp) which is a solid stock got dumped from around $3.47 to around $2.30's and investors over there were not happy. there are numerous reasons for the dumping of stocks the most ...more

I think we can both agree that we knew what I meant by 'a nickel'... I agree with you that us Canadians have been getting it up the poop hole this year, I'm holding on to TNG until q4 2017 either it does well or not, that was always the date in had in mind... not sure what to attribute that to, perhaps an article I read years ago or some financial projection....

fluid, I am personally most likely going to keep averaging within a price point because I have to trade equities as part of my brokerage requirements but my plan is to hold as much of what I have acquired and sell some off along the way while preserving my very limited core of 3,000. by no means will I get rich in what I am doing unless something big happens so I will do what makes sense to ...more

ss I trade through credential direct. for those who know them they will know these conditions have to be met to get the $8.88 trades that they brought in (really no choice for any of their clients): (1) 15k or more in assets no trades required (2) $100/month given as assets in the bank no trades required or there has to be at least two trades every quarter to avoid a fee of $25 for not trading ...more

I would trade brokerages and TD offers similar pricing on trades. I use CIBC and TD...CIBC is cheaper at $6.99 lifetime but you have to demonstrate X amount involvement in their institution. I would go with TD in your case and not think twice about it. SS

thank you so much ss I will keep this in mind :-) I didn't know that with CIBC that you need a certain amount of involvement with them. I was under the impression that if someone opened the Edge trading account that they would be able to trade for $6.95 regardless of whether they have any other accounts. Nevertheless, it makes sense because while they give you a good trading rate they are a ...more
