Markets closed....

Now that NA markets are closed will we see the usual jump in POG with a gap up tomorrow?

Gold is Overbought so we may need a good pause if not a pull / not to say it will not continue upwards b4 a pull / one can remain in overbought teritority for some time but consolidation makes for a stronger move next time ..

US FED is slated to lower interest rates tomorrow. 1/4 point is expected but could be 1/2. I believe Gold will jump tomorrow as well. If it is by 1/2 .. it will rise more. There will be two points of change during the day to watch for thta will move markets. One when the announcement is made. And second when chairman Powel speaks at bit later when any forward statements are made during the press ...more

POG already beginning it's climb.....gap up to 1.08/09 and then retrace to fill? Unless gold really rocks....we could gap even higher...
Comment by NineLives on Sep 17, 2024 7:51pm
Signman I genuinely hope it's 50 bps as the Feds once again are way behind the curve ball as they were with there incessant statements 'don't worry about inflation it's only transitionary'. How Powell kept his job after that fiasco is beyond words !

I hesitate to make bold predictions BUT .. .I think the lowing of rates tomorrow will propell Gold a decent amount higher . And thus provide the gasoline to light the fire under mining stocks in general . It will be hard ti ignore. And despite the fact we over here in TC (and FVL) have had some good love lately .. we might be just getting much more!
Comment by NineLives on Sep 17, 2024 7:45pm
Actually SM Gold is oversold, the weaker USD will bring more countries into buying it plus consumers as their currencies strengthen will hold more. Demand is exceeding output along with Silver. If it wasn't for the paper ratios holding it back with excessive manipulation Gold would already be over $3.000 an Oz. Don't look at the POG via a graph, that's like looking at an historical ...more

Yes agreed  the X factor is building for Au. While I can totally agree with SM on TA. But it can also be true that TA works ...until it doesn't. The forcing of lowering rates (when actually they should rise to save the dollar) along with how many counties have been buying gold hand over fist. Risks of WW3 along with general civil unrest and lack of trust in any goverments AND banks these ...more

"The sheer fact that Au keeps hitting all time highs and there is virtually no media coverage of it" Really shows how the masses at large are still unaware of what's soon coming - are kept in the dark and remain in the dark as the Government and the Fed keep the lid on the truth about spending, debt and the deficit.  Adjusted and made up statistics to rig inflation, employment ...more

Wonderfull add on thanks FT. Let me sum that up as such -  Governments constantly lie with words and statistics while the masses are willfully ignorant with Rome burning around them.

Helped along by Anti Social Media ! I was sitting here trying to think of a leader or one in the shadow government, anywhere in the Western world that impresses, one with poise and vision, still working on it :/ Guess one size doesn't fit all. Proportional representation would certainly help.

NL - If one comes along they are deemed dangerous to the system. And if they can't be compromised though various means and brought into the "system" they generally die of lead poisoning if you get my drift.

For sure, Martin Luther King certainly never deserved that tragic ending.

It's a blatantly corrupt world that only keeps getting worse. Let's put Cops at every STOP sign and give a rolling stop driver a big fat ticket. But hey we won't arrest shoplifters with masks who loot once the total value is less than $900. In Canada Loblaws just stated that violent thefts have increased 300% in the past 4 years. However the current Government maintains that they are ...more

TeckPro, you seem to be a big fan of Bertold Brecht, who wrote about the huge economical crises of the 20th century: "What is stealing from a bank compared to founding a bank?"

I agree in the BIG picture but not on the technicals (futures) I follow / so far over the past two years this site has proven to be rather accurate... I do enjoy watching the pivots and TA suggested that coiimcides often with my gut calls .. The next move on Gold will take us up to $2776 ish if not touching $2800 before it pulls back and takes out $3000 early next spring .. gut call is all / time ...more

SM - Gold Overbought? No! It will be years before gold reaches anything close to being over-bought. Short pauses by Foreign Central Banks buying gold do occur pending geopolitical outcomes, global financial news along with each countries means to accumulate. They are the main accumulators of gold currently and they won't be through stockpiling the metal anytime this decade. Gold is postulated ...more
