Dear Bob, Can you please answer a question?

Dear Bob,
My granddaughter was very bored this summer.  She borrowed a few novels from my bookcases.  The one novel that lead to me asking was a spy chase in Iceland.  Any way the item that was the object of the chase was a sealed box that contain a circiut that when power was put to it.  Product nothing that was detected.  Said to be a new type of radar.  When talking to her about it lead to question about my stay in Iceland when the ship I was on broke down and they had to fly in a parts to fix it.
Just a crazy idea that came from the book.
Of all the posters on this board.  You are the one that knows MP the best.
Do you know why MP could do only 90% of the separation of the mine's ore?
We know that the chinese helped MP with separation at the begining.  Did the chinese give MP help that they know would only let  90% of ore get separated?
The last video that Pat did had the demo plant producing Dy at 99.9 plus.  They are using the same chemisty.  So why was MP stuck at 90% for so long?
Dragon
PS Yes, I would not put past the chinese doing this.

No idea what you're talking about with 90%. MP has been separating NdPr at required purity, 131 tons in Q1 2024. Ramp up in separation behind schedule, so continued shipping some concentrate to China rather than separating it all at Mountain Pass. Low REO prices have contributed to slow ramp. MP has been concentrating all mined ore, separating some, maybe stockpiling some, and sending some ...more

Dear Bob,  I know that.  That is not what I am asking.  When MP first started after BR.  The Chinese helped MP get started and for a while all MP did was separate up 90%.  Making a concertrate that they sold to China.  Do you know why MP could not go all the way to 100% REEs oxides back then.  Not now.  You have told the board what MP is doing in 2024.  ...more

"for a while all MP did was separate up 90%"  Still no idea what you are talking about. Initially, MP only concentrated, and sent concentrate to China. Then it started separating and ramping up separation, so separating some and sending rest of concentrate to China.
