Pretty stunning statistics

A record 52% of homes are under contract within 2 weeks.

Pending home sales were up 29% and new listings fell 11%.  Classic supply and demand case.  The lack of supply and the strong demand forced prices up.

Active listings (the number of homes listed for sale at any point during the period) fell 37% from 2020 to a new all-time low.

I wonder if the lack of listing is having an impact on the business activities of photographers and on UI's business.  Eventually, the real estate market will get back to normal, and UI's business will enjoy more growth.

I had a hunch that there were fewer listings in general but at least we have confirmation now. Where I live in Toronto, there are have been fewer listings overall in the last month but home prices have skyrocketed. I almost want to sell my house, pull the equity out and start renting :)  What's interesting to note is that even with fewer overall listings, Urbanimmersive has improved ...more
