Move over Ricoh and Matterport Pro2, here's LEICA BLK2GO

“With tripod-based scanners, it might take an hour, hour and a half to scan a whole house. With a LEICA BLK2GO, I can scan the same house in about 10 to 15 minutes. This significantly increases the volume of captures we can take on now that we have this device. And we will soon be moving to six, seven, and even eight per day.”

Retail price CDN $1,200 - $1,300

Interesting price action today. The valuation gap between Matterport and Urbanimmersive is just insane.  Matterport:              price/sales ~ 42 and negative Ebitda Urbanimmersive:    Price /sales ~ 4.13 and positive Ebitda

May be I should have said move over Matterport Pro2 and Leica, here comes the Giraffe. Interesting business model.    https://www.estateagenttoday.co.uk/features/2020/12/giraffe360-invests-3-5m-in-camera-as-a-subscription-service-for-agents?fbclid=IwAR3oPgdSvklUZcQsOHuszsMdtR4Uqj_GlHgmRGGy7nrpa-5DooFtTJB9lwA

Hi Laurence thanks for the link.  I think this is a superior business model and can be disruptive to the industry. What I like about UImeet3d is that they are targeting the agents by promoting things such as virtual open houses which I think can have significant upside. It appears that Urban is buying the photography agencies to be one step closer to the real estate agents by promoting ...more

I agree, if Giraffe360 was a publicly traded company, I would be interested.

A real estate broker or a photo agency can subscribe to a monthly subscription of $279.  For that price they get to use the Giraffe360 camera and get four shoots per month ($70 per shoot per month) including photos, virtual tours, and floor plans all with professional editing.  Or for $549 per month, they can shoot 16 properties per month ($34 per shoot per month).  If the broker ...more

Risky business model. Offering hardware + software together like Apple (without the financial capacity of Apple) I believe it's better to break up the value chain (hardware, software), specialize on one step/service in the value chain and be operator/OEM independent. Still believe in UI here.

Riskier in a sense that they may need more capital investments but it does create a higher "barrier to entry" as well. Revenues are stickier when companies can make their own hardware and software such as what Apple has managed to do.

Lawrence, I've always been impressed with your share price analysis and valuations. Would you be kind enough to look at the quarterly reports for a company named Atlas Engineered Products and recent NR's and offer your results on AEP's thread? It would be much appreciated, both by myself, and their other followers. Thanks, and Cheers!
