CPR.v closed 21.4% up today and at a 52-week high after announcing that it has achieved a technical breakthrough with its proprietary Direct Lithium Extraction technology.
The increasing demand for lithium due to the rising popularity of Electric Vehicles is driving investors to search for promising junior companies. Allied Copper Corp. (Tickers: CPR.V or CPRRF for US investors) is set to change its name to Volt Lithium on April 20th, thus likely enhancing its visibility in the lithium market.
Volt's breakthrough in its DLE tech is expected to support continued improvements in the company's extraction process at its Rainbow Lake Lithium Brine Project as well as the project's economics upon commercialization. This next-generation technology has allowed for up to 93% lithium extraction while reducing the amount of re-agent required to treat oilfield brine, resulting in lower operating costs for the company.
Volt's ultimate goal is to achieve profitable commercial production of lithium from oilfield brine and be the first company in North America to achieve this milestone. The company plans to continue enhancing its DLE technology to further reduce costs and increase lithium recoveries.
The Rainbow Lake Project is believed to hold 78 billion barrels of lithium-infused brine with lithium grades of up to 119 mg/L.
