VLT's Solution of Long Permiting Times for Li Mines

As pointed out in the article below, there are major challenges in permitting lithium mines in North America, sometimes taking up to 17 years despite the need for a reliable North American supply for the EV industry.

In the article, Alex Wylie, President and CEO of Volt Lithium (Ticker: VLT or VLTLF for US investors), delves into the intricate dynamics of mining essential minerals for electric vehicles (EVs) and batteries. Wylie elaborates on the challenges within the battery industry, citing concerns over ethical practices, environmental degradation, and human rights abuses in mining regions, particularly the Democratic Republic of Congo.

VLT is developing lithium extraction technology that can be easily integrated into existing oil and gas operations, greatly expediting the permitting process and minimizing additional environmental disruption.

VLT's unique 2-stage Direct Lithium Extraction technology focuses on lithium found in oilfield brines, eliminating 99% of contaminants in the first stage and extracting up to 90% of lithium in the second stage.

As mentioned above this approach integrates smoothly into established oil and gas production infrastructure reducing permitting time, environmental impact as well as overall capital costs.

Initially designed for the Rainbow Lake lithium brine project, estimated to hold 99 billion barrels of lithium-infused brine, Volt Lithium plans to extend its extraction technology to oilfield brines across various North American basins through a newly announced demonstration plant.

With successful lab testing and a pilot production program validating their extraction processes, VLT's commissioned permanent demo plant will expand the company's industry applications, fostering opportunities for partnerships and collaborations and significantly amplifying its potential impact and reach across North America.
