Patent Process Glitch

Now we get into the finicky details of patent filing.

The amendment was submitted with new drawings (5) and new 'claims' numbered 33 to 38.

For whatever reason the company underlined the sentences in claims numbered 33 & 34. That is against the filing rules - you are not allowed to underline new claims.

Some of the prior claims that were revised were also underlined but that appears to be acceptable.

I believe they have been given two months to submit the corrections if I understand the options correctly.

Up to a two month delay all because someone underlined a couple of sentences. Wow!

Rules will be rules but sometimes bureaucracy can go overboard.

Yes great post. GA knows the ins and outs. He was quoting how long an application would take through a government agency over a year ago and was dead on. Stuff like this will make headway and continue to meet milestones. Just keep chipping away!
