New reactor...huh...what?

Lame posts?
You must be new here, you need to take news from this company in the context of the last ten years of 'progress'.
Read on its own it sounds great but lets step into the Wayback Machine with Sherman and Mr. Peabody.

OK girls, so who can translate this vague NR.

Management’s goal in creating this new reactor

What 'new reactor' and why is this the first we have heard about it?
Nobody seems to be questioning that so I will.

This new reactor that is being tested at our partner facilities in Fort St. John, British Columbia is being developed not only for the commercial pilot plant which is currently under construction and on track in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia,

Ah, Fort St. John.
OK so is this 'partner facility' the fabrication shop that built the easy bake oven 5 years ago.
What they modified the pieces of welded pipe parts filled with castable refractory?
Is that the 'new reactor'?
Sounds more like this is the 'bench scale' unit described below.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA / TheNewswire / December 05, 2016 – Nevada Clean Magnesium, Inc. (TSXV: NVM; Frankfurt-M1V; OTC Pink Sheets: MLYFF) (The “Company”) wishes to provide an update on the progress of constructing the bench scale pilot furnace being done in Fort St John, BC. by Lindon Enterprises Ltd.
After the recent successful completion of the test work from to U of C regarding the use of both the ferrosilicon and the alternate reductant, a major part required for the proof of concept, the fabrication of the furnace is proceeding on schedule. The refractory base was poured and is currently being baked out to remove all moisture. It is expected that the inner liner will be poured and in bake out by early next week. All the raw materials needed are mustered at the furnace site.  The dolomite was obtained from the drilling rejects stored in Reno, Nevada which originated from the 2007/08 exploration programs. The company is currently awaiting the arrival of the vacuum pump and completion of the cooling system.  These should be complete within two weeks.

A picture of the base refractory can be viewed at

https://nevadacmi.com/investors/furnace-dec-2016/december-2016.

Don't bother clicking the link, the photo's have been gone for years, anyone that saw them would understand why.

That NR goes on to say:

(Current photos of the furnace can be viewed at https://nevadacmi.com/investors/furnace-2016)

James Sever, P.Eng. and President of the Company states, "This piece of equipment will enable us to obtain the data necessary to engineer a full scale furnace. In addition the unit will provide the platform to test proposed improvements to the process."

So it sounds like this 'furnace' was planned to be used for further testing.
Why is it being called the new reactor?

That was all done in 2016.

The furnace shell is assembled and the thermo insulation blanket installed. The construction group is waiting for the arrival of the power contacts which are being manufactired in California. The premix refractory castable is on order and refractory liners will be cast shortly after installation of the power contacts.

The condenser that receives the magnesium vapour is complete and auxiliary items such as the vacuum and cooling systems; the electrical power supply; and instrumentation will be added to the completed assembly. The testing program for producing magnesium from the Tami Mosi and ScanMag dolomites will commence once the decision of where the location to test has been determined. The program will have mandatory operating safety requirements and local permits in place prior to the furnace testing program commences.

BTW, Lindon Enterprises Ltd (AKA Lindon Acres) doesn't seem to be around anymore.
Maybe someone familiar with Ft St John knows if it changed it's name (WMG Partner Enterprises?)

Updated NR of Oct 2016:

James Sever states, “The bench scale test work provided engineering details.  Operating this pilot furnace using both reductants will provide a quantity of magnesium metal for evaluation of metal quality and will confirm the engineering data required to satisfy the proof of concept required for the NI 43-101 prefeasibility report.  Once this work is complete testing will begin to achieve a continuous processing operation.”

Photos of the furnace and of the recent verification work can be viewed on the company’s website: https://nevadacmi.com/investors/furnace-oct-2016

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA / TheN ewsWire / April 4, 2017 – Nevada Clean Magnesium, Inc . (TSXV: NVM; Frankfurt-M1V; OTC Pink Sheets: MLYFF) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the completion of the bench scale test furnace.  This work was performed by Lindon Acres Enterprises of Fort St John, British Columbia.

Originally scheduled for early 2016 with the process testing to follow, it was decided to delay the larger scale test until the materials assessment program was completed by the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Included with this work was the confirmation of an alternate reductant.

Grinding and calcination systems are being installed in order to  prepare the materials necessary to produce magnesium metal crowns with the furnace. These crowns will be remelted into magnesium buttons for quality and certification purposes.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA / TheNewswire / J uly 18, 2017 – Nevada Clean Magnesium, Inc . (TSXV: NVM; Frankfurt-M1V; OTC Pink Sheets: MLYFF) (the “Company”)  announces an update regarding the bench scale test furnace systems and the materials briquetting test work.

The bench scale pilot furnace  operating system (“furnace”) is nearing completion.  This will be followed with a  timed pressure hold and leak testing of all welds and joints. Upon a successful result, the furnace will be subjected to a vacuum leak test with pressures less than 10 Torr the expected operating pressure for the system.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA / TheNewswire / November 06, 2017 – Nevada Clean Magnesium, Inc . (TSXV:NVM; Frankfurt-M1V; OTCQB:MLYFF) (the “Company”) ”) is pleased to announce  preliminary “proof of concept” in the production of magnesium metal from its bench scale pilot furnace located in Northern British Columbia.

The metal is a result from a partial test charge being conducted in order to identify any operational deficiencies prior to a full charge of dolime material. The charge contains dolomite from the Company’s Tami Mosi deposit located east of Ely, Nevada and ferro silicon the identified base case reductant material contained in the NI 43-101.

So now, 4 years later we hear about it again?
Fast forward to today:

Management’s goal in creating this new reactor is to develop a new generation of technology that we will include in the current commercial pilot plant and future facilities. This new reactor that is being tested at our partner facilities in Fort St. John, British Columbia is being developed not only for the commercial pilot plant which is currently under construction and on track in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, but also for the 100,000 metric tonne commercial plant being built in Ohio. Once testing is complete in Fort St. John and magnesium metal is produced as part of the test, we will have successfully developed the next generation reactor which will be faster and more economical in the production of magnesium metal.

'currently under construction'
So wasn't this supposed to be done months ago?
To me it seems like a bait and switch NR to deflect from what is supposed to be up and running a while ago.
Great news, look over here, a new reactor!

'but also for the 100,000 metric tonne commercial plant being built in Ohio'

Being built?

Western Magnesium plans to break ground on the plant within the next eighteen months.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – TheNewswire – September 9, 2021 – Western Magnesium Corporation (TSXV:WMG); (Frankfurt:3WM); (OTC:MLYF) (“Western Magnesium” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the official signing and unveiling ceremony in Harrison County, Ohio.

Sorry but 18 months down the road doesn't qualify as 'being built'.

I know all you pumpers out there are seeing dollar signs but use your critical thinking mode for a change.

Really read this NR (on and between the lines) and take into account all the misleading and failed promises in the past and see what it really says.

This sounds exactly like 2016/17:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - TheNewswire - October 18, 2021 - Western Magnesium Corporation (TSXV:WMG) (Frankfurt:3WM) (OTC:MLYF) (“Western Magnesium” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that commissioning of the continuous pilot reactor is now complete. All electrical, instrumentation, and vacuum testing are complete, and the vessel is now ready to receive feed. The equipment used in this test will verify that our materials of construction are correct and confirm other very valuable data for our continuous operation that will follow after these tests are completed. Preparation of feed material is now underway with the operation of the reactor to follow.

And this sound like a way to put a positive spin on something that was supposed to be up and running months ago.

commercial pilot plant which is currently under construction and on track in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, but also for the 100,000 metric tonne commercial plant being built in Ohio.

'Being built' is clearly misinformation (being polite here)

From today's NR

Separately, our commercial pilot plant construction is underway and progressing well. Factory Acceptance Testing has begun for the electrical and instrumentation equipment. Structural steel installation is ongoing, and the remainder of the equipment is scheduled to arrive once the steel work is complete. Plant wide commissioning will commence once construction is completed.

What?
Steel work ongoing?
This was complete months ago, no?

Lets get this confusing release straight.

1. 'New Reactor' - Continuous Pilot Reactor -  Ft St John
2. Commercial Pilot Plant - Burnaby - Leased complete commercial warehouse

So all of a sudden this 'new reactor' pops into existance and the CPP that was supposed to be finished months ago is still receiving 'structural steel'?

And you guys all think this is good news?
Is everyone blinded by their own greed they can't see the lies and deception?

Being built? is a lie.
A lot can happen in 18 months.
It's easy to tell the truth, just say 'planned to be built'.

Come on guys, you obviously are desperate for good news but let's look at this realistically.

progress has been continuous. These are the facts. Metal soon!

Didn't SP or SJ say metal was made months ago but 'Sam' is witholding the news for some unknown reason?

What are the facts of this top secret project?

Seems more like the Co puts out some vague bits of information and the pumpers fill in what they want to believe.

Facts?

LOL

Any idea why the commercial plant would be built in Nevada given Tami Mosi is located in Nevada and shipping the 12% grade ore seems inefficient or costly. Is there a PEA and PEA update that I missed? No mention of the economics in the presentation nor Tami Mosi. News releases contradict themselves. I would appreciate a link to help with my DD since their website is not helpful. Their fact sheet ...more

Actually I missed a NR. The new plan is to purchase raw dolomite / magnesium ore from Shellyco. No terms of the LOI disclosed. We need to see a PEA to understand the valuation of WMG as a processor and the quality of the resource which right now is an unknown.
Comment by RawSienna on Oct 26, 2021 2:25pm
They have no plans to use the Tami Mosa mine any more. Search for their form 10 filed on SEC. Their reactor has been in development for over 4 years now. Announced the new plant with many strings attached and possible ground breaking in 18 months. Form 10 on SEC is all the DD anyone needs. 70 pages of bad news.
