Lol. Dsark, I think you are now deemed the WND Cheerleader :P Have a good weekend all.

Well, in the absence of any real news (not that any was expected this week) we're all reduced to cheerleading when it goes up (like it did this week) or grumbling when it goes down (like the previous 3 weeks). But this sure is an entertaining board with good input from decent posters. Thanks y'all!Cheers,El Joro

I agree. But there was real news. Loewen made major investments this week. That is a beautiful vote of confidence by the WND brokers. Thanks guys. Talk about that warm and fuzzy feeling about WND. You know WND is rising above its competitors in the renewable market. Solar, geothermal stocks are still floundering for different reasons. Even NKW got smashed. The cream is rising to the top. There is ...more

Spot on about Loewen making another huge investment this week.  They let all the weak hands fall out and then when it hit the low 1.30s, Loewen just snapped everything up!However, WND should not be compared to NKW, SRA (geothermal), SBX, or the SWX's of the world.  WND is far beyond these companies and we should be comparing them to Plutonic Power Corp (TSX-T:PCC).  IMO, they ...more

Yeah I just checked it out. You're right. The comparison as I see it is they are heavy into hydroelectric and are getting into a 300MW wind farm too. There is a potential really big hydro farm in the future in BC. They are  JV partners at about 50/50 with GE. So there LT horizon puts them on about an even keel with WND that does not have any JV's. They do have at least a third ...more

Good point Dsark, I believe you had raised this a couple months back when I asked which companies were similar to WND, and its good to know that WND may even be in a stronger and better position then Plutonic due to WND not requiring JVs and less shares outstanding as Simon51 had brought up.I was not aware that Loewen were shuffing their portfolios the past few weeks, and is good to know that they ...more

WND is rising at low tide...  with the Canadian dollar hitting parity.  Also  Oil even dipped in price on WNDs biggest gain...      What happens when the tide comes in?  :)

Good point about the joint ventures.  I never took that into account.  Logic would tell us that if Plutonic Power is worth ~3.50 a share... WND should be worth around ~3.50, maybe more.  At that point, if & when WND reaches that target then we can reassess and see where we think WND can go from there.  I love you Loewen.
