Scotia pushing this thing up

Massing buy orders. This will be an interesting, short week.
Thursday is Remembrance Day. I think that news will come out either on Friday OR next Monday. I prefer a nice run up here, and news on Monday.

I don't know if this is correct but I have a feeling Mackie Research is dumping shares in a "not for profit" style sale to keep the price from going up.  I wonder if they are apart of a equity financing for WND coming up?  Either that or they need capital for another venture?  I have a hunch.

Xtrykr...just an FYI that the stock market is still open on Remembrance Day. Only gov't office and mail delivery are closed now on Nov 11th. Whether this will affect the timing of any WND-related news release is beyond me.Cheers,El Joro

Could definitely be a financing. I'm sure they've burned a lot of cash "closing" the deal.

Oh, was not aware of that, thanks for the clarification El Joro. However, it'd still be a bit strange to announce it on a statutory holiday.

I believe Mackie (Research Capital) was one of the first to start supporting and covering WND. It wouldn't make sense for them now to sell at a loss just to keep the price down as they can make far more in selling their position upon an actual news release. There may be some tax loss selling taking palce but with the volume seems more than that. It would however be very curious to see ...more

You missing my point.  Mackie Research could be doing a 10M share equity financing for WND, I mean who really knows.  They may not want to pay anymore then a 1.05-1.15 per share.  So to get the price they want they just have to kill any rising share price and dump 50,000-200,000 shares every few days over a 10-15 day period so they get the average they want.  Western Wind ...more

Actually looks like they popped in at 1.09 and blew away 20,900 shares and now are at 1.10

do get your point dsark, just seems odd at this point in the game Mr. Gowing, Mackie analyst, as a spec buy rating with target of $1.50 with a commentary on nov 2 financials. unforunately not a Mackie client so do not have access to the update https://www.mackieresearch.com/research/ratings.php hopefully some clarity to the entire situation can be provided at some point sooner than later
Comment by Xtrykr0 on Nov 08, 2010 1:51pm
I think that his new buy target is fueled by emotion and unrest from getting screwed over from taking a long position in WND when it was in its $1.90s.
Comment by pool1212 on Nov 08, 2010 2:15pm
one thing is certain they are dumping heavily
Comment by dsark on Nov 08, 2010 2:39pm
Mackie has capped the price at 1.10... you can't get by 1.10.
Comment by pool1212 on Nov 08, 2010 3:02pm
ironic but 1.10 was the same price of the non-brokered private placement of the $2.5 million equity offering back in July?
Comment by Xtrykr0 on Nov 08, 2010 3:07pm
Why would they be selling their $1.10 shares though?

Honestly who cares what who is doing.  We all know financing is gonna go down real soon.  We've all been bitching a lot on these forums but I think we forget that getting over $200 mil is not some easy fly by night operation.  It takes time.  It's also not just Manulife.  There's Rabobank as well.  None of us have ever done anything of this magnitude so ...more
