Wow - and everytime I posted about this stock being manipulated and being brought down I got a bunch of crap about it is just the market and to stop whining -  these things don't happen,  who is doing it blah blah blah   .... you don't have positive news releases  and price is brought down, in any market - value stocks still hold their own! This will be very ...more

This certainly explains a lot of things re the share price, valuation and that management was not to blame (as a few of you kept harping). The next few days and weeks will be very interesting. Good luck to all !

Can anyone explain how the accumulation of the shares by a potential acquirer causes the share price to be held in place or go down? This news release makes no sense.

Well the one way I see it.  It can easily be done by for exampleIceburg the sell side... then market sell a bunch of sharesIceburg $5 on the sell side with say 5,000 shares  you sell 5,000 at $2 People see its an iceburg and start to sell their shares at $4.99the company could then Market sell the shares to $4.90 which creates a new trading range say it took 10,000so you sold now 5 ...more

Yup, well said Lunderk. In layman terms, scare the living daylights out of legitimate shareholders, buyer comes in and offers a premium to takeover the company for cheap, shareholders jump ship on first sight from getting frazzled from the SP performance, but it's all a gimmick. It's a good thing Jeff has kept an eye on the holder distribution. I've seen other company's get " ...more

By using instantaneous, computer generated, matching sell and buy orders, the "high frequency traders" can easily move the share price down.  They are probing for stop loss orders that we cautious investors put in place to limit our down side.  The sell order goes through first and creates a sharp downward spike triggering ordinary investors stop loss limits and ...more

Frakking trading bots have to go,  Getting the machines do the stealing is criminal and should be treated as such, this is not investing its taking advantage of the inefficiency's of the system to profit at the expense of the rest of us.

Nice to see the manipulated downward pressure is absent thus far today. The stock is able to rise on relatively light volume. Still wonder who the sellers are at this low price. The question is: will we learn the identity of the anonymous mystery buyer and the purported offering price? Stay tuned folks. Should we be a buyer at these levels knowing there is takeover interest?

Thanks for the explanations lunderk and Thornysahuaro. It all makes more sense now. I don't use stop loss orders so I guess I would not get shaken out. I'm usually buying more as prices fall unless there is some fundamental change in the story.

Very good day so far, WND is going against the grain, TSX and other world markets are tanking.

Looks like the shareprice is being backstopped by a yet to be identified suitor for the company. If the bid is real it may trigger a bidding war (hopefully). At any rate we should move toward the appraised value of $3.75 as Windstar is completed and comes on line. Cheers
