AQN

the WND price stays at 2.05 - 2.15. Why is AQN not buying all  the shares  it can at these prices instead at 2.50 ?

guys..cmon some of the comments are bordering on irrational....wat would happen if Algonquin started buying millions of shares on the open mkt you ask? the price would go thru the roof with the buying....normal supply vs demandthat is why it cannot be done on the open mkt

Just a thought:If the $2.50 AQN is not successful AND there is no other offer the share price will decline below $2 and AQN is then left a minority shareholder in a company they wanted to own, but now can't control. This is pure speculation on my part.El JoroPS. I'm heading off to a music conference in a few hours and will be mostly away from my computer until sunday night. Hope ...more

I can't see AQN not being successful if there is no other bidder. They have quietly accumulated shares and have "locked up" a major shareholder. They can continue to accumulate shares in the market quietly as there are still willing sellers at $2.05 to $2.30. The only way they fail is if they are outbid. They won't settle for a minority interest in my opinion.

i can't see the bid being succesful ! there is to much value in this company to be bought out at $2.50 ! anything under 5 per share is a crime !  if the company is taken over at 2.50 jeff will lose millions in the big picture !  remember when jeff said he wanted to grow the company to market value of 4 billion ?

So you expect another bidder to emerge? Any ideas as to who?

i expect jeff will not let this company get stolen from right under his nose !!! there is to much money to be lost by everyone if this takeover bid goes through !   $2.50 i make a good profit , $8 to 10 i make big money and so does everyone else ! there is a lot of people in the same boat including management !!

I agree wholeheartedly, but I believe there has been some pent up expectation that this thing should be rocketing towards the sky as of right now since Windstar is so close to coming online. It'll be an interesting battle. I don't really know what AQN's plans are either than to attempt to "steal" the company but the way they conducted themselves so far in this hostile ...more

I have held this stock for 3 years, and would double my money with a $2.50 offer.  But I didn"t buy this stock to make a quick buck, I bought it for future value and I believe in renewable energy, I will sell it when I get an opportunity reflective of the value of the company.  Anyone who sells or tenders at $2.50 only enables a thief to steal this company at a ...more
