As of March 31, 2012, Savitr does not appear to have owned any shares of WND. Perhaps there is something I'm failing to understand, so please check out this NASDAQ link, which shows 62 holdings by Savitr, which does not include anything for WND:

I find that rather odd, to say the least. Perhaps, they realized did further research, and realized that WND was completely undervalued, and knew they could quickly unearth value by playing hardball with WND management.
If they got involved (i.e., buying) from April onwards, they would have been buyng shares in the 1.25 range, and would already have a tidy 50-80% profit. They might already have cashed in some of their gains, and can play the stock both ways, as their actions can now quickly move the stock in either direction. From what I've seen over the years, these hedge funds can be skilled, ruthless, manipulative, and completely focussed on one thing only: their own gains.
Whether that coincides with "our" interests is another thing altogether.
