Here is a thought

Now that BAM has bought 16M share for $2.25...they can now afford to pay higher for teh  remaining shares. Correct?

 

maybe even $5 a share for teh remaining 50 million or so...that is only $250M for a total of $286Miilion

 

that is still low!

BAM is not in business to satisfy you or me. Remember some other institutional investor sold their shares for 2.25 Perhaps it was a shell company owned by some one close to BAM As retail investors we are the last to know outcomes because we are not building takeover models etc Think on both sides of the trade just like playing chess This stock could see 3.25 to 4.00 not a penny more, however ...more

Peter- the sale at 2.25 is contingent that for 1 year if the co. is sold for more, the 2.25 SP is matched to the sale!!!!!!!! Checkmate. Thanks for your calm posts though. GL!!

This looks just like a deposit on a sale. And WND has locked out the proxy challenge. An earlier poster called this dead on.

In light of the announcement by Western Wind that it has commenced a process to sell the company or its assets, Brookfield Renewable and the vendor have agreed that if any party acquires Western Wind at a higher price by Aug. 28, 2013, Brookfield Renewable would pay the vendor an additional amount.   Say nothing about how much the additional amount is just that they will.   Some ...more
