NR July 30th 2012

Suprise Jeff included and updated on an ongoing basis -- Please combine the words and decipher what you were told -- seperate what you want to hear from what is said .... PS Yabucoa could close by the end of Jan or early Feb

"The compromise which favours all of the shareholders, is to conduct an immediate and thorough sales process that will include the closing of the following milestones:

1. Financial completion and start of major construction on the 30-MW Yabucoa Project, Puerto Rico. This will add $160 million to Western Wind's balance sheet to approximately $560 million at time of sale;

2. Negotiating the balance of the cash grant proceeds from treasury;

3. Completion of the mezzanine loan facility from our senior lender in the amount of $25 million, which can repay the high cost corporate notes;

To complete the above, allows Western Wind, in the opinion of the Board, to be sold, subject to market conditions and shareholder approval, at a level between the October, 2011 Algonquin "bear hug" bid and the published DAI valuation."

Seems it was a clear fact - Yabucoa will close first  Emotional responses are what the market is made of not people who read news releases

With one exception most regular posters did not sell shares today. Some probably bought more. I had bids around $2.60; they did not get hit.   So while some, including myself expressed disappointment in today's news release, very few lost faith by abandoning their investment in WND. Last I checked an expression of disappointment is not a categorical tearing of hair or gnashing of ...more

I don't think many see the logic in selling in this range when we have a pretty solid bid from Brookfield at $2.50. If one looks at the upside vs downside balance, it is pretty obvious that WND is a good bet. Selling WND only to buy a stock with no downside protection seems to be a questionable investment move. As much as I have to hold my nose, I will stick with WND until they convince me it ...more

I added and will continue ..... I ask where the idea it would close came from if the NRs say milestones that will occur first  Brookfields bid made you think it would close or .... what cut and paste please ,,,show me where the expectation came from    ps I think Brookfield will get WND for in the $2.80 area if something does not happen fast

  Forgive me...not bid process close by end January, rather the expectation of some clarity before Jan 21st from management re: Brookfield's $2.50 offer that expires Jan 28th. Today's news release, a mere week before the WND-announced deadline for filing the advisory circular did not provide the clarity I was expecting re: stage of bid process, number of bidders, etc. and It ...more
