The Red Lake Gold District in Northwestern Ontario is renowned for its gold-rich deposits, having produced over 30 million ounces of gold from high-grade zones, making it one of the world's most prolific gold-producing areas.
West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (Ticker: WRLG.v or WRLGF for US investors) controls the Madsen Gold Mine (land package = 47 km2) as well as the Rowan Property (31 km2) in the Red Lake district.
In a recent development, WRLG announced significant drill results from Rowan. One hole intersected 14.61 g/t gold over 1.5 meters in the Vein 101 Zone. This indicates an 84-meter down-dip extension to a previously reported high-grade zone.
Results from other holes not only confirm WRLG's geological model of the project but also enhance the existing high-grade inferred mineral resource of 827,462 ounces (9.2 g/t Au) at the Rowan Mine.
Overall the results indicate that gold grades are consistent or even higher than those outlined in the current inferred mineral resource, which remains open in all directions.
WRLG is also continuing to develop its Madsen Mine, where it plans to complete 38,000m of underground drilling next year and put it into production in 2025.
