Earlier this week, Outcrop Silver & Gold (OCG.v OCGSF) announced the results from its first drill hole at the La Ye vein target as part of its ongoing 2024 drill campaign at the Santa Ana silver project.
OCG is testing new targets along a 17-kilometer permitted corridor, with two drill rigs active—one at the Jimenez vein system and the other at La Ye. Drilling is expected to start at the Los Mangos target by the end of 2024.
Drilling Highlights:
- Drill hole DH402 intercepted 0.60 meters at the La Ye vein, returning 1,136 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver equivalent.
- Drilling at La Ye confirmed high-grade silver at depth within parallel vein systems, indicating untapped resource potential at Santa Ana.
La Ye is a high-grade silver-gold vein system aligned with the Aguilar vein system and with a strike length of over 500 meters and dips to the northwest.
It has produced exceptional assay results, with some samples returning very high silver equivalents, including:
- 4,898 g/t AgEq (11.39 g/t gold and 4,043 g/t silver)
- 1,454 g/t AgEq (13.21 g/t gold and 462 g/t silver)
- 2,553 g/t AgEq (5.48 g/t gold and 2,141 g/t silver)
With an exploration strategy involves drilling to confirm mineralization at depth and exploring the vein's continuity, La Ye is one of OCG's a high-priority zones for potential resource expansion in the Santa Ana project going forward.
