What bothers me is how the market dropped way before any news were announced, why trading was not halted, and the channels thru which news were released. Is this of sufficient concern to complain, if so to whom? Any comments appreciated.

I've never complained before so not sure but I would imagine you just call the Alberta Securites Commission and ask them what to do.  I agree with you on this.  First, people were selling before the news was out.
