Colombian BLOOD GOLD

Santos et al - How many more must die?

How many more must die before this incompetent Colombian government realizes their inaction has created an appalling “situation” over these last few years. LEGAL MINERS are unemployed. Their families are starving so they tempt fate to recover a few flakes of gold in order to feed their families by working in illegal mines while the Colombian government looks the other way.

Some families are paying dearly due to this Colombian government’s most questionable foot-dragging habits. Meanwhile drug lords’ & FARC’s coffers are overflowing with BLOOD GOLD (my new term; similar to blood diamonds - link ).

Add four more to the Colombian BLOOD GOLD body count:

President Santos, Luz Helena Sarmiento Villamizar, and all other government officials involved directly or indirectly in these mining (in)decisions: each and every one of you should be held accountable for these tragedies.

A few thoughts: how about we take away your government pay & all your perks for, say, a few years? That’s right, how about you rot out in the middle of nowhere for months on end with little to no hope of things ever improving? How about you starve? How about we let your whole family starve i.e. your spoiled kids included? TOO BAD SO SAD, LIFE IS HARD AFTER ALL.

Institutional and retail investors alike: it is time for international investors to say “ENOUGH”. It is time to unite and take action against this Colombian government. Perhaps these are not crimes against humanity but what is occurring (or should we say NOT occurring) might be considered CRIMINAL nonetheless from an international viewpoint.

Allowing this illegal mining to continue, ALLOWING FATHERS TO DIE is CRIMINAL. Wives are losing their husbands. Children are losing their Dads. This is gross negligence at every level of this current Colombian government and should no longer be tolerated!

SHAME ON YOU SANTOS. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

The world IS WATCHING. DO SOMETHING.

If there is ONE large institutional investor out there reading this (Mr. John Paulson perhaps?), I beg you to please do something to initiate serious change. As a retail investor I WILL support positive change, as will countless others globally. We are well beyond all passive observation points. The time to act is NOW before more end up DEAD in the BLOOD GOLD trade.

My plea also goes out to all CEOs, management, and directors with Colombian mining affiliations. This is no longer about money – it’s about doing what’s right in OUR very messed up world.

One honest hardworking man’s thoughts and opinions only.
