I had a nice long chat with the

President, Jim Evaskevich this afternoon & here's what I came away with:

Their main focus is natural gas ... where commodity prices are very low,
low prices in that industry are very cyclical .. they rarely stay low or high

With low prices currently, there are less and less operators drilling and thus
the supply is being used but not replenished .. which is simple to understand

We are coming into the winter / heating months and with supply reduced and the
potential winter demand coming ... commodity prices react very quickly as you know

So people who are used to playing the energy sector, usually know all this and how
the commodity prices can be your friend as an investor. Some will typically wait for a
commodity price to reach a low point & buy  ... and then sell when prices are better.

Now this is not a day trader investing style I agree, and there are many more types
of investors out there than just the day trader as I'm sure you'll agree.

In January of 2009, Yangarra's assets were valued at $45 million dollars and of course
they are not today, and that has a lot to do with the price of natural gas.

So if you believe that this commodity (natural gas) which is at a low, will rebound in the
coming months, as history has shown (with winter & it's demand for natural gas)
then there are opportunities at play in the depressed natural gas sector.

The 52 week high for YAN was .21 and yes there are still profitable even now .. it then
becomes one's personal tolerance for this kind of cyclical energy play.

Some investors only play the energy sector and the cycles it produces every year.

Just thought I'd share the conversation this Friday as we head off to a long weekend.

Cheers,

Studio

All he said is true.  NG has been over drilled and produced for a long time.  Everyone hopped on the band wagon because it was the fashionable thing to do.  I bought oil drillers and am happy now.  For those looking forward, NG will come back again.  As long as YAN can hold the cash together and grow, it's worth a few shares in the portfolio.  Or you can wait ...more

thanks studio for the info. i am very interested in the natural gas sector. it has gone down so far it's time it'll come back up with vengence. when i looked at the financial statements, the lack of hard cold cash was an issue for me. they have lots of accounts receiveables, but no real cash. that worries me. management looks good, they all were part of a big oil and gas company. i'm ...more
