It`s all about the choice of chip for Wi-Fi7

You need to do nothing more than second guess what Wi-Fi7 Chip most represents the total sum of a Tier 1`s present and predictive needs for an estimated lifecycle of Wi-Fi7.  In other words, unless you have a very accurate idea what exactly the Tier 1 is looking for, then the best of luck to you.  IMO, I would segregate this by not only  the tested reliability of the technological capabilities, and servicing benefits from the technology as per present needs, but also those predictable needs over it`s desired life cycle. This is where you might want to familiarize yourself with the descriptive term, "Future Proof."  What does it exactly mean and what applicable benefits would you expect it to provide over a predictable cycle?  You might not be capable of monetizing it but trust me, the Tier 1 can, and definitely will. There was a reason that AS mentioned  "ending the rip-and-replace ccycle of legacy achitectures"

You have one particular challenge that didn`t exist when adopting past wi-Fi standards that will exist now for you before choosing a WiFi7 chip. In the past there was little difference in performance between different chips all employing the legacy single channel architecture, If there was, it was marginal and probably not even noticeable. Now, it appears that there could very well be a big difference according to the accuracy of all performance, and service claims from Yfi of there chip.  You might choose to ignore the difference, but once again it is very predictable that any existing Tier 1 will make it their business to know what is under the hood of YFI`s design.  There just is too many millions of dollars at stake. Over and above the "future proof"  monetary implications there are 3 other claims from YFI that are worthy of being scrutinized.  Reduced CAPEX; Lower OPEX; and propensity to generate more revenue.  IMO this is difficult to estimate without first having a more inside knowledge as to what extent YFI`s Wi-Fi7`s  technology can noticeably provide better performance on present devices compared to that of the best competitive chip.  More importantly, does YFI`s Wi-Fi7 platform have the capacity and performance insurability to encourage the development of new products and devices that would otherwise not exist. In other words, does the Evo 880 have the technological capabilities of creating an additionall new user demand in the  wi-fi marketplace.  Once again, the Tier 1`s will think about it if they have not already done so. Therefore, it might be worthy for you to give some thought to.

There is more to discuss, and there always will be.  Now before I am criticised by saying that there is no evidence that YFI`s chip in question will ever exist, bear this in mind.  Now that the cats out of the bag, and a Tier 1 decides they want to adopt the technology for Wi-Fi7, the Evo 880 will be produced whether YFI is the owner of the patentsat that time, or another corp entity is. If this was to occur, what are the odds of other Tier 1`s not following suit?

Where there is opportunity, there exists risks. The Tier 1 more than anybody is aware of this,.

Show me something factual Sam -- or is it truly a figment of your imagination? Did you mean: Edgewater EVO 880 chipset?   No results containing all your search terms were found. Your search - Edgewater EVO880 chipset? - did not match any documents. Suggestions: Make sure all words are spelled correctly. Try different keywords. Try more general keywords.  ...more

Despite this already being posted a couple times, I will do it again for the person that picks and chooses what he wants to see and read.  Scroll down, you'll see Evo 880.  https://computeramerica.com/2022/11/15/edgewater-wireless-interview-spectrum-slicing-and-wifi7-w-andrew-skafel/

Thanks, I'll ignore the snarky comment if it was aimed at me. I don't normally follow the Computer America site and it does not seem to come up on an Edgewater/EVO search. If it has been posted here before I may have missed it -- or forgotten it because of all the other exciting posts. Oops, found it under "Media" on the Edgewater website - how about that, and I see it was on a ...more

The "thumb up" was from me Pandora. You don`t witness many admittances of being wrong in this day and age.  Especially with the addition of an apology on top. Then again, there is less, and less men in the male population.

And at 82 I must admit, even though I don't like to, that my memory is a far cry from where it was at 42. I even write a lot of notes but then you have to remember to go back and look at them. Hate to say it but many of you will also get there one day. :-)) Thanks for the thumb. Verified came back for a 2nd (or more) life in September/21. Not sure who he was before that but based on names he ...more

I have a pretty radical idea that would certainly be a game changer. They should post this product sheet................on their website. Imagine it. People could actually find out about ED209.  Question is why isn't it on their website?
