Deep drilling

Anyone recall the depth of con shaft ? Seems to me was between 5 and 6000 ft .... GP looks to want to go 3000 below that with new holes.

obviously he has significant indications and or info to go to that depth (and expense) ....in the case of GP  I doubt it's a total Cr-p shoot.... but with drilling one never knows til it's done.

I fugue he knows something special to do this. iMO

Does anyone know if they can use the existing shaft to save on drilling. I suspect they are flooded, so would need a platform of some sort to hold the drill. Would be a huge savings to drill from the bottom of the shaft rather than drilling right from the surface. Just a thought. TTF

You are right it would be much cheaper to drill if we could use the shaft. They would have to dewater the shaft and rehabilitate the cable pully etc.. but we do not own it yet. I think the cost to be 2-4 million dollars.perhaps more if it is in bad shape. So the answer is no , not untill we own it . At that time we might put the money in the plant first before we do the shaft. Remember he will do ...more

Feels good to have some drill results coming again.  Something to look forward too.

I think he is going after two completely different targets with two riggs. One is new shallow  ground next to the mine an the other is deep old explored ground under the mine close to the shaft where they stopped mining and left ounces in the ground. He is starting with 8000 meters wich will leave 70% of the money we got in the bank. Smart given the market has not yet returned.. I like it ...more

There are two shafts on the con. We are talking about the Robinson shaft wich is 1900 meters or 6000 feet

"Deep Drilling Program below the Con Mine The objective is to drill two holes targeting high-grade gold shoots beneath the Con Mine workings" GP has found good reason, coupled.... maybe even steared by/with rumours from local technical people who were there back in the day and would know, that there is more gold there. ( and I know he met some of them at the twon hall in YK) Purely ...more
