These new regulations — imposed on grounds of national security — will require exporters to seek a license to ship some gallium and germanium compounds starting Aug. 1, China's commerce ministry said. Applications for these export licenses must identify importers and end users and stipulate how these metals will be used. 

When I read this story I read up on these two metals and their uses and the state where they are found .Gallium is a compound in Zinc and Bauxite .For Germanium the primary ore is Zinc and also recovered from Silver/Lead and Copper ores . 

Everything right now is a plus in the REE space . BCRNW

 China's planned export controls on gallium have caused frantic stockpiling of speciality semiconductor wafers made from the metal, according to the world's largest gallium buyer. Gallium is only trading at 326.00 Kg . BCRNW
