Globe & Mail

So they beat estimates but we're down almost 20% because of tomatoes!
I will add that many companies in the MJ sector are down around 4% today but you definitely need a thick skin and a good sense of humour to play in these markets. GLTA

Village Farms International Inc.  was lower with the premarket release of better-than-anticipated first-quarter results.

Revenue of $52.4-million, up 63 per cent year-over-year and ahead of the Street’s $51.6-million as cannabis retail sales rose 20 per cent quarter-over-quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA of $3.3-million also topped the consensus estimate ($2.5-million), however net sales fell short of projections due to decreased in produce sales, which the company attributed to “the lowest pricing environments for tomatoes-on-the-vine and beefsteak varieties in the past ten years.”

Hogwash. They claim to be a tomato and pepper grower, but reality is they are 99.9% cannabis. They could not control costs and that was their downfall. I can only blame myself for picking this up last month thinking the bottom had flattened out. This one will be below $10 by tomorrow.
