Waterflood Expectations

This is about what we expect from waterfloods in general.

Because of the focused topic of this post, I refrained from adding another "RE" to the Coproprate Presentation discussion. This post is in reply to Link: This Post.

I don't think waterfloods increase base production that much, or not for long. Declines continue but at a slower rate. If Declines can be brought low enough the PRY will turn out much better off.

Here's a nice .pdf file on waterflooding, though I admit it doesn't explicitly say much about rates of decline. Link: Waterflooding

P.S. I know oil is up but I don't think they're selling at spot price. I look at Page 9 of Link: The Latest Quarterly Report
Which might explain how we haven't budged on share price despite WTI being up.

Sorry for my inexperience, there's plenty of things I don't understand. It's a pleasure to discuss with you and keep gaining knowledge.

ok, primary production in this area should yield 10%-15% of ooip. waterflooding should take you  to 25% and repeated waterflooding will take you to 40% at the end. as the number of   waterflooding cycles grows, so does the watercut. https://www.arcanres.com/investors/faqs/#faq10 Arcan has some general numbers on a different area, but it is relevant to show the expectations. I made an error - I double counted the july producing wells. 22 producers includes july and the   17 additions in november was correct. they have 39 producers and at the january time frame   they had about 10 that fully responded to the waterflooding. out of the 10, 3 were having issues  of too much water. one was still producing at 2x the pre waterflooding rate, another ...more
