You would think they have written off their investment now??  There is no economic sense for them to sell the shares now... in my opinion.  Let's hope not at least.

You can not write off your investment as a fund manager. you have to sell if you want to offset  gains. also, there is something called window dressing - fund managers many times sell  in order to not have losers on their holding list. I think that one of the resons for the selling   at almost any cost at the end of the quarter is that.
