Yes, all services seem to think highly of our gold company.  5I, which I use, also speaks highly of them.  So we have August doldrums, gold falling but we have a hedge against that and a mine at worst that will gross excess cash for another 10 years at the worst.  We are going down?  The market is a funny place to be sometimes.  If we can get a short squeeze, with the ...more

Keg, we all know this will be sold for $20+. But you have totally missed my point. The difference between $20, $25 & $30 is significant, and premium % based on SP during negotiations matters.  We are now in a situation where every day we are underperforming gold, miner ETF's and other miners (other than Coeur). With such a small float, we should be over performing.  And Keg ...more

I think we will soon see a cross to let someone in to the game.  That is what it feels like.  The other alternative, if they do not sell ,is to move on Banyan.  I just do not understand why they would be buying an insider's position in another junior while trying to showcase their property for purchase.  Could they spin out another entity and sell their parcel only?  ...more

I think the Banyan angle is McConnell somehow moving over there when Victoria sells. In one of the recent interviews he said he hopes the new buyer will keep the existing operations management team... that sounds like he's kept options open and has a plan. Wife Tara bought a bunch of BYN last week. Now they have Franklin in there too.

I agree OCB. That never occurred to me, but the price action lately is so inexplicable , that this makes more sense.  keg, I think you are right. They are letting/facilitating the sp moving quickly down. No other explanation.

Would also appreciate everyone's thoughts about how such a deal would be settled, given the sorry state of Coeur's share price..  Would this mean being stuck with Coeur shares?
Comment by Swingandmiss on Aug 12, 2021 5:09pm
I agree. Slam said that Orion did not just gift the shares over to Coeur, but had a plan since the beginning.  I agree it now looks like a deal was struck with Coeur early on. That may also explain the significant drop in their share price as well. Market anticipation for heavy dilution of their shares as it will most likely be some cash and lots of shares   I just can't figure ...more

I guess what I am not understanding is that deal Coeur made with Orion was already completed with them getting 75% of the spread. Why would it benefit Orion to have the share drop again.  this is hurting my head! I have too much skin in this game. Maybe I do need to take up golf, or meditation, or yoga!

Yes that's what is confusing. They would benefit from the stock being higher, not lower, but it is obvious that some manipulation of this Company is in play. I only hope that the BOD have our best interest at heart.  If not, the amount of class action suits will be off the chart I'm curious to hear Slams take on this, but please no going on about Coeur's properties.    ...more

Does this make sense Maybe a deal was done with Coeur in June for cash and 2 for 1 swap when Coeur was at $10.5 to $11 - overall may have been $23 to $25 takeout.  Since then , Coeur has been sinking probably due to dilution concern, so now a 2 for 1 would not fly with shareholders.  Is the price being walked down by Orion so that at present, a 2 for 1 would work?  If ...more

The spread ibetween Coeur purchase of Victoria shares from Orion at 13.20 and the buyout ptrice if successful with 50% of board approval -then the 75% of the spread is paid to Orion in Coeur shares up to the 300million cap. Then its paid in cash. The normal course issuer bid if completed at 5% of outstanding shares  and is buy to cancel-does that push Orion or Coeur over the 20% and they ...more

@slamdunk:  Your CDE traded within pennies of a new year low today, Maybe you should be cheerleading a VGCX rebound to lift your moribund CDE out of death throes perhaps due to the unexpected dumping by Orion of all their CDE shares. What a mess CDE's Board must think of the dumping of millions of CDE shares since Orion received the shares and CDE filed  the prospectus authorizing ...more
