More information about the landslide

Google, 'More information about the 24 June 2024 heap leach landslide at Eagle mine'...this is very bad news presented by a world expert on landslide, Dave Pelly.
His assessment is that the rotational collapse was very deep seated, that would have been close too or THROUGH the base of the heap leach pad.He stresses the imminent danger of further pad collapse and or collapse of the now near vertical rear escarpment. He states the danger will be made worse in the event of rain. That huge work will be required to stabilize the situation. This could hardly be more serious for the prospects of Victoria, regardless of whether pollution has occurred or not.

nincompoop, when providing references regarding quotes from a story from experts,  it is important to include all of them. You left out an important statement. "All of the risks above can, and surely will, be managed with appropriate action by the operator / owner of the mine and the regulatory authorities." https://eos.org/thelandslideblog/eagle-mine-2

OK, I see you finished your quote before the end of the piece, which was ' All of this presumably represents a BIG issue for the operator/ owner and their INVESTORS'...did you miss that bit with those huge rose tinted glasses on...

Also, I pointed you to the article in question, I pointed to the factual information there in the comment section...assuming you would read it yourself, so hardly trying to hide information. My subsequent post suggested how the problem could be resolved, but also pointing out...AT HUGE COST. I'm out, you are obviously confident that this can be turned around...good luck...you are going to need ...more

Not being confrontational nincompoop, as I value and appreciate your opinion. I am under no illusions this will be an easy fix, but I believe more facts need to be presented before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I agree, but sometimes there are very big clues as to the direction this is going. For me I accept an element of risk in investing, but there comes a point where that risk becomes pure gambling, betting on a big outsider, sometimes you will win but for the vast majority of the time you will lose. I made my decision, for me their are so many far better miners out there without the risk of being as ...more

And just maybe nincompoop could provide some facts for a change, backed up by links, instead of his glass half full opinions.  I see in a previous post how he's described VG state of affairs using the following opinions: "If the landslide expert is correct (one expert's opinion only NOT Fact), and the rear escarpment is now in danger of collapse, obviously no one would be able ...more

HB... Wanted to wish you good luck with the news release. Hopefully all good.

Thanks crazytimes.  I'm not much of a believer in luck but let's give it a try.  I'm more of a facts based kind of a guy. Kudoos to you for stepping up to the plate and buying shares during all this perception driven sentiment.  If VG can turn this thing around it will be a case study for years to come. HB77

LOL...oh Honey Badger you do make me laugh...you only deal in facts eh...and what facts are you basing your unbridled confidence on? Err...none. OK so let's say they don't use those 'exciting' explosives to quickly and safely make the 100 foot + high escarpment safe from collapse...can I put your name forward as one of the brave volunteers to start stacking your massive 100 foot ...more
