Some interesting info today from the briefing

None of the security bond has been drawn on to date

Vic Gold doing the work on site to date taking action along with inspectors direction.

All but one directive from Yukon Government recieved on time, extension until tommorrow given for remaining directive which involves stabilization. 

Machinery still should not go on HLP

And water samples taken 2 kms downstream in Haggert Creek showed no sign of cyanide.  More testing will continue in the coming days / weeks. HB77

The security bond is only drawn on in the condition the gov has to take control and clean up the mess.  I suspect this would only happen if the company becomes insolvent.

gimmeabreak1, the gal at the briefing explained it a little differently.  If VG fell behind in their duties as expected by the Yukon Government, they ould have their own folks step in and the security bond would be used.  Nothing mentioned about insolvency.

MD  You are confusing what insolvency is!  The Yukon Gov would never mention anything to do with insolvency as it is a private company and that is for an internal discussion amongst management, the board and the lenders.  Yes the Yukon Gov can step in and use the security bond towards clean up but who pays day to day bills and the lenders when there is no cash coming in?  The ...more
