occured anually since 2018, so there should be lots of historical data to rely on when the third party engineers determine the cause of the slide.

1. Continue to monitor the toe slope below the HLF for rill erosion.

2. Check HLF Interception Ditch and monitor sediment collection. Clear sediment collection at culverts.

And the report conclusion from page 59: CONCLUSION The structures reviewed in this inspection generally show little evidence of movement or risk indicators. Where risk of movement was identified, the risk is typically low and the consequence of a small instability is managed by minimizing exposure to workers, infrastructure or high value natural resources. badger, I agree with your thoughts on the shifting,etc.  From what I can see VG completed or was working on any recommended remediation on the reports.  Nothing in the inspections pointed towards an imminent failure from the inspections. What continues to bother me is that it was noted that one of the peizosensors was off-line.  Then there was a comment that the design was such ...more

Well Husky, I'm no peizo sensor expert but I'd like to think that there is a lot more than one piezo sensor on the entire HLF.  And if one going off line was so important then I'm pretty sure  there would need to be a way for it to be readily replaced or if not, a dual or a triple back-up piezo sensors installed at each point (required by EMR rules / legislation as part of ...more
