Makes the whole level 2 bid/ask spread kind of pointless, when 99% of the shares trade in these large blocks between institutions. No need for the market to know what's really bid or asked I guess....

Liquidity, for whatever reason, is good for our market. Its what VTR needs, and higher volume always precedes the move up.

Exactly - why, with the gold price rising, gold stocks rising, the asks pretty thin, would CIBC sell into the bid and prevent a rise? I can't believe that it's 'to try and accumulate', they must be trying to get out, so why not let the market rise and get a better price?

I guess the gold sector is waiting for the Federal Reserve policymakers meeting today and Wednesday.
