I wonder where those heavy buyers of $.84 - $.89 last Friday have disappeared to?   Come out and chew these resistances to pieces at high $.70s which should be a bargain for you now compared with high $.80s? . maybe simply the sight of a fat lady has scared off some people..... let alone her singing....LOL... . Those buyers were anticipating an upside surprise out of Kiaka South.  It's a long way from an upside surprise, so nobody cares, although on the plus side, the sector's strong enough right now that at least nobody's aggressively dumping (yet).  I guess if there are any institutions out there that want to role the dice on $20/oz gold, and think Kevin will be able to scare up ...more

That is why the market is having a hard time pricing this one.  We are either going to have a mine or not.  If there is never going to be a mine at Kiaka and this is all a pipe dream based on faulty assumptions and a POG that is not going to last, then Kiaka is worth nothing (although I would argue that Volta Resources even before they landed Kiaka was worth $1.40), but if Kiaka is not ...more

It depends on how many shares have to be issued to fund the Capex, don't you think?
Comment by ALLEN4 on Sep 27, 2012 12:23pm
Don't think so, because the 548 million net asset value based on $1,372 POG has already taken into account the costs.  So whether the cost is by way of loan, share dilution or whatever, the net asset value is there.  Even assuming $1,372,  to move our market cap from current level of about $130 million to $548.00 would bring about a dramatic movement up in share price.  And ...more

I think people are waiting to see how VTR is going to fund the development of Kiaka, especially the DFS - what to do in a staging approach.   The funding may consist of several options, not just equity issue.   It could be a combination of debt financing, equity, a JV with even some non-mining companies (like Samsung doing a deal with someone, can't remember who).... & ...more

Its was Cluff Gold that did the deal with Samsung.  I was thinking about calling Bill Gates to see if Microsoft would be interested in a piece of the action in Burkina Faso.

VT1 - "...at least nobody's aggressively dumping (yet). ...." . Erh..... What do you mean?   VTR going down over 10% on heavy volume today, you still consider this is "no dumping", especially compared with previous down days?   Rarely in the last litlle while, did I see VTR going down with such a high volume?!   . Let's see where the ...more

I posted that early in the morning, before the heavy unloading began.  That's why I included the (yet).  I agree, this is a major selloff, and it's just starting.
