The volume, the timing, and the price, all indicate that this is a reaction to the Kiaka South news.  So let's say ten share-holders with a 100,000 shares each sell because they are disappointed about Kiaka South.

Who cares.  The release also indicates they are exploring other regional targets at Kiaka and we will have other exciting finds to add to the mix.  Retail investors just focus on the latest news and never see the big picture.  But if you do the math we have about 200 million dollars in additional revenues to scoop up from the surface when we start production in early 2015.  A nice little find, certainly not a stand alone mine, but 200 million dollars is not small change when it can be had in the first year; what's called a starter pit.

I don't buy the assumption that whoever sold the million shares today necessarily knows more or has better judgment than the rest of us.

Ahh, ALLEN4..... I could not be on this ride without your calming posts.....If it's just you and me on the bridge of the ViTRanic, sipping snifters of cheap brandy and smoking Colts while the orchestra plays us into the freezing water, well that's just fine with me :)

BMO Precious metals fund had 103 Million Net Assets as of Aug 31.  Burkina Faso wasn't listed specifically as a country they had exposure in, and non-listed 'other' countries made up 2.2% of their portfolio - so if that was ALL VTR it would have been around 2.6 million shares.  Figuring that's unlikely I've been guessing they had between 500K and 1 million as a ...more

Mick16, these days I prefer Cuban Monte Cristos, paretos, and Jamieson Irish whisky, neat.   Well that's good to hear, I just hope no one decides to hunt me down and shoot me.  I am no longer a lawyer in St. Thomas.  I quit that job and became a lifeguard in St. Martin's.  That's where you can find me if you need to shoot me.  But no one needs to get ...more

My bet is VTR gets brutalized in the market now for the next 2 - 3 weeks minimum, culminating in a capitulation selloff below .50 (as I said earlier). Then, if REALLY lucky, the whole sector will be so manic that the 'even pigs can fly in a hurricane' dynamic will take over and we'll get a nice bounce back to .90. Or more realistically, we'll be near the end of the seasonal move ...more
