Question regarding feasibility study

Anyways as they said in the pre-feasibility study VTR should produce on average 300,000 oz/year. Question is why is their production target so high?

Company's like Rubicon Minerals plan to start off their full production at 180,000oz/year, which I think VTR should follow also.

300,000oz/yr is too much. They should start off at producing below 200,000oz/year, ON TOP of selectively mining the high-grade ore first. This will they'll have a shorter pay-back period and then later ramp up production to 300,000oz/year and mine the lower grade ore when they have the funding.

Any thoughts on this, or if anyone spoke to IR or Kevin regarding this? Thanks.

Regards,

I agree.  You should e-mail the company, though, and get their opinion on this, and why they don't do this as a way of reducing the up-front investment.

I think we have seen since the pre-feasibility study came out, indications that Volta is looking at a step by step phased in approach to developing the mine.  That seems to be a new trend amongst developers recently.  I think with the feasibility study it will be an entirely different animal with some different options to proceeding.  But my understanding is that usually gold mines ...more

'...the more we produce the more we make'.  True, but first they have to get the money, otherwise production stays at 0.

Goldflow & VT1 - I did email the CEO asking about the possibility of staging development in order to reduce initial capex.   His answer is - yes, VTR is looking at the staging, but won't know whether it's possible for at least another couple of months. . GLTA

Of course, the more we produce, the more we make. But the problem is the market is way to volatile and risky right now, so as the saying goes, "something is better than nothing." I'd rather produce less and make less, so that I can get financed, than not get financed at all and produce zero.

And to add to that - I believe the main reason why we are tanking in share price is because people think we are worth nothing. Yes we have tons of gold in the ground, but whats the point in having gold in the ground if you can't even pull it out? Therefore, we need to prove to the market that we CAN pull something out. We don't need to start pulling out a lot of ore, just enough for the ...more
