I am interested in your comments, but I do suggest that there is a lot to be positive about with this company.  I have been in it for many years, and if you just take your eyes off what the shares are trading at for a few moment, and consider the big picture you could be positive as well.

Management has many years working in West Africa.  Kevin himself is a former manager at Iamgold.  Iamgold successfully developed Essakane and that is always an important consideration for me.  Kiaka has many of the same metrics as Essakane and my expectation is that it will be developed into a mine with the same level of success as Essakane has been with Iamgold.  Kevin and other management  have experience not just in exploration but in mine development.    They won the confidence of Bristow, CEO of Randgold, who selected VTR to develop Kiaka and that also says a great deal.  As to when they should have become more agressive with capital preservation, its easy to second guess.  It seems to me though that they have about ten million in cash and to have that much at this stage, it seems they must have been slowing things down for a while now.   This is not the end of the story by any means.  We have a long way to play this out both in terms of the market for the POG and for Volta.  I am capable of having negative views and outlooks, and right now I am negative on the outlook for countries which are trying to manage their economies by debasing their currencies.  At least give VTR that much, while countries such as the US are issuing dollars and debasing their currencies, VTR has not issued more shares to debase the value of its own shares.  Also, I have no illusions about the influence of any of my posts on anyone's investment decisions.  I simply throw my comments out there to test my thoughts, because if I am wrong someone will shoot me down, and I am capable of changing my mind.  So far no one has done that yet.   A lower share price is not a reason to change my mind.

This has nothing to do with a low share price. Almost all gold stocks have a low share price right now. This is about a gold deposit that is uneconomic and will probably need at least $1500 - $1600 gold to have a chance of getting developed based on current PFS. Kiaka isn't an asset anymore.

First, 1500 to 1600 gold was not that long ago, and not that far from here in my opinion, so that does not scare me.    Second, what you say about the Kiaka deposit can be said about almost all major deposits out there and in fact it is being said about most major deposits out there, and in fact we probably do need a higher price of gold to make gold mining a viable business;  ...more

Meant to say 5 million ounce mine;  not 5 million dollar mine, though I guess that's what the market thinks we have, lol
