Volt Lithium (VLT.v or VLTLF for US investors) is a company that recognizes the critical role of technology and extraction methods in successful lithium production. In the company's more recent investors' presentation, CEO Alex Wiley shared insights into the company's mission to become the first North American producer of lithium from oilfield brines.
The webinar highlighted Volt's impressive Rainbow Lake Lithium Project. With a reservoir holding an impressive 4.3 million tons of lithium, equivalent to over a century of production, and concentrations reaching up to 121 milligrams per liter, Rainbow Lake is a substantial resource base.
During a recent pilot production program which simulated commercial operations with oilfield brines from the project, Volt achieved positive extraction results. The pilot showcased extraction efficiencies of up to 90% from oilfield brines, even at concentrations as low as 34 milligrams per liter.
VLT's large resource base, coupled with their steadfast commitment to cost efficiency, positions the company for profitability regardless of lithium price fluctuations. Their projected production costs of under $4,000 per ton provide a solid foundation for long-term success.
As explained by Wiley, Volt's next big move is to produce a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the project to showcase the economic viability of Volt's Extraction Methods and Rainbow Lake Property.
