question

I have 5000 thousand VMD shares that I recieved from PHM and have not been watching them much. Can anyone tell me what happened with in the company to justify a nearly $10.00 drop in SP since the high. I noticed it started dropping when they joined the Russell and every time i check back in they are substancially lower again. What happened, did they lose 70 % of there business or something? TD has them as a buy and with a high target.  Is this low price just another example of the corruption that the pros are allowed get away with. What is a fair value that it should be trading at with out the manipilation. Yes i can look it all up and figure it out but I thought some one following more closly will already know. TIA

Mkt incorrectly priced the stock like the revenue/ebitda from Covid would be permanent. When it dropped so did the stock.

With respect I don't see it that way.  The Covid equipment sale was about $20 million.  That's 50 cents per stock.  Even if you thought that was permanent and capitalize the fifty cents at 10% say that's $5 per stock.  That would be 16 - 5 is 11$ plus another year of growth.     I also think the seven analysts who have issued a target are able to figure ...more

And as I've said before no one is buying this stock for its EPS or dividend policy.

Also, the market got excited about ventilators being dropped from competitive bidding and assumed VMD's base business (ex-Covid) revenues would jump but growth has been slow to date.     https://stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2020/04/13/viemed-healthcare-comments-on-competitive-bidding

Note Royal's Frank Morgan has a five star and a win-loss of 61% - great for this industry. I do NOT in any way disagree with L or Trop - not at all.   But there are clearly two different perspectives on this stock as we move forward.

Thanks for the replies, Any opinions on what the SP would be based on fundementals not on the market.

Look to the analysts.  Between 12 and 16 CAD perhaps ?

Recall between Q319 and Q220 the stock went from 11.50 to 4 to 16.  The uptick was 300%. It 6.80 goes up 300% you got a decent number no?  And one which is aligned with Royal Bank's best case number. For that kind of money Bestobe's sister might even throw you one.  Not much I know but its all she can afford.

korupsion, with the current market conditions, and extremely low trading volumes, fundamentals currently have no bearing to the SP in my view. So as JackLambert would say, the stock is really worth what one would pay to buy, or one would pay to sell the stock today.   Until this environment improves, market wise, learning to live with Covid, looking to future seems a long way off in my ...more

Excellent slide.  Points well made.  But as Chuck Noll once said - when you're losing all the bad things they say about you are true.   Give it a while.

Thinking further - the reimbursement thang knocked $3 of the price.  That's 120,000,000$ off the market cap  but its only an actual charge of $8 million worst case.  very very odd and since April we added 70 staff.  About 15% increase.   Also very odd. Very odd indeed.
Comment by JackLambert on Oct 06, 2021 4:08pm
If I extrapolate -  around April this stock will hit $0 and we will employ 920 people with revenues over 180 million  ha ha ha.  Very odd indeed not buying this BS for one minute. All game playing.

This downslide can all be reversed with some major contract wins. VMD has only 8,000 vent patients.    Doug Cooper: Okay, finally just a couple things and maybe Casey on the VA. Can you just remind us how many patients are in the VA that could be applicable for your therapy?   Casey Hoyt: We don’t have an exact number on the COPD patients in there Doug, but I know there’s ...more
