Look At Quipt's Latest Acquisition

This was announced this morning and is in Lafayette Louisiana, Viemeds back yard. Longterm3 please explain to me how this acquisition would not fit with Viemeds structure and business model. It is mind boggling that this management team is still sitting on their hands when it comes to making acquisitions.

Tropical, below is my response. I don't know the company, only what I read. Access Respiratory Homecare obviously would want to sell for the highest price they could get, so they must of spoke to Viemed. They may of had no interest or thought it was overpriced. I am not sure if you read Quipt's press release, brief summary. Over 1,000 refering physicians, more than 6,000 new patients and several very difficult to obtain insurance contracts.  We always hear mention of a possible VA contract, with the same add on of more pilot studies needed. Oh well, different management philosophy I guess. Both companies continue to grow and are doing well. Too ...more

I really don't think this acquistion has much to do with Viemed. Viemed could of bought it for cash if they wanted to. I'm not worried about a reccession for Viemed. They bought extra equipment, and Viemed is paid by insurance. QUIPT doesn't say what they paid. They are building the company through acquistion's. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. louisiana is a new state for Quipt so the acquisition of insurance contracts had strategic importance in setting up shop in the state. Viemed already established there so acquistion unnecessary.
