re: Perspective

Although it must by acknowledged that Woulfe is one of its clients, I note that Edison Research in its March 27, 2012 Outlook favorably addresses some of the Woulfe valuation issues raised by dr_airtime:

The review is a little outdated as it is pre-feasibility but is very detailed for any new investor to get a vision on the project's outlook and fundamental standings. That analyst report is a bit out of date, but pretty comparable as they used $350 LT APT price as compared to current APT price in the $340 range. I would make two points though about their $.65 valuation: 1) They used 307M shares (Feb-12 report) vs. ~368M fully diluted after 2012 financings accounted for. As a start just divide their $200M by 367M shares and your starting point is now $.54  ...more

Their Valuation on Woulfe Mining is extremely conservative in my opinion.Valuation: US$0.65 NAV suggests hefty upside We value Woulfe on an NAV basis, which yields a US$0.65/share value implying a c 90% upside to the current market price. The project’s strong economics and low execution risk underpin Woulfe’s attractive valuation and evidence of the project ...more

dr_airtime, I for one am happy enough for reading your point of view.  One must not think that a point of view different than their own is somehow bashing.  It gives time for reflection as to the strength of one's own understanding.  That said, it is always difficult know what value to place on a company that is not producing any revenue, especially in circumstances where we do ...more

dr_airtime; what is your point? Of course it's a matter of input and output. Every FS is based on assumptions at a given point in time. The key number as far as I'm concerned when looking at FS is the IRR. This is th eonly number that one could use for an apples to apples comparison.

My point is three fold:   Don’t believe the “half billion dollar npv” number bandied about by management on BNN and in press releases. First of all that is at $398 APT while actual spot price is far less. Second, that is assuming Woulfe owns 100% of Sangdong and they will be entitled to 75% if IMC takes a 25% interest. Third, since Woulfe’s 75% interest will be 100% debt financed going ...more

dr_airtime; 1.  Remember, the IMC is NOT done yet. So as long as the IMC deal is still out there, the NPV stated in the FS is 'valid' to reference. If and when the IMC deal gets done, then of course the NPV gets revised, all dependent on the offtake numbers. BUT, the deal has not been concluded.   2.  EVERY project is debt financed. You also seem to only see the benefit for ...more
